Are you interested in taking your first steps into the world of Traditional Signwriting? Then look no further!
This Brush & Block Lettering Basics Workshop is specifically tailored for Beginners with little or no experience who are interested in exploring Hand Lettering using Traditional Signwriting Methods.
Attendees will be introduced to Paints, Materials and Brush Types, and then will spend the first day learning and practicing Basic Brush Stroke Techniques utilizing a Mahl Stick, then on Day 2 create a traditional Signwriter's Single Stroke Block Letter Alphabet.
The Aim of this workshop is to give attendees an introduction to the Tools, Materials and Basic Brush Techniques used for Traditional Hand Lettering as well as an understanding of Basic Brush Strokes and Lettering than can be used for ongoing practice.
All the foundations to get you started in the right direction!
CURRICULUM
Day 1:
-Introduction to Tools and Materials.
-Basic Brush Stroke Technique Demonstration.
-Basic Brush Stroke Practice Using Lettering Enamel.
Day 2:
Learn to draw a traditional Signwriter's Single Stroke Block Letter Alphabet, then Hand Paint it using the techniques learned on Day 1.
NOTES:
All tools and materials will be provided.
Coffee, Water and Snacks will be provided.
LUNCH: You can bring your own (Studio has Fridge and Microwave), or order online from the local Subway and John will go and pick up.
Studio is on the 2nd Floor accessed via Stairs. No Elevator or Handicapped Entry facilities. No smoking in the building.
Limited street parking. Taxi or Ride Share is recommended.
Cancellations/Refunds are not accepted within 7 Days of Workshop Start Date due to required class numbers unless we are able to fill your spot, however you are welcome to send someone else in your place should you not be able to attend.
We reserve the right to cancel Workshop if minimum attendance numbers are not met. Anyone who has booked in a cancelled workshop will receive a full refund of the workshop purchase price paid.
